Presenting the committees: Activities

This is the second in a series of articles in which Estimator will present all new committees.

Since the Activities Committee is the most well-known committee among the FAECTOR members, it doesn’t really need an introduction. The committee consists of really creative and motivated members. Besides partying every day of the week, we also organise the biggest activities FAECTOR offers. The first activity is on the first of December and is still a surprise, but I can assure you it is going to be good! After this we also organise the yearly FAECTOR city trip, the third year’s day and the end of the year party. Even though the IntAct Committee organises the committee battle, we all know that the Activities Committee is the second-best committee of FAECTOR. So if you think you are as awesome as the current Activities Committee members, do not hesitate and apply next year!

Myrthe van den Reek (chairman)

Hey there, my name is Myrthe van den Reek. Maybe you don’t know who I am yet, as this is my first committee at FAECTOR, but I promise you… You will get to know me soon enough! That is, if you did not see me and my leopard onesie yet. I guess I can’t help it, as I am one of few ‘brabo’s’ in Rotterdam. This means I love to dress up (whether it’s carnaval or not) and enjoy some ‘Brabantse gezelligheid’. I am 21 years old and currently in the second year of BSc2. This year I will be part of the best committee at FAECTOR, the Activities Committee. We already started organizing this year’s citytrip and we plan on making it unforgettable (or forgettable…. depends on how much you plan to drink). In my spare time I love to travel and to exercise: I box a lot. And no, this does not mean you have to “watch out”. It simply means that I get my ass kicked a few times per week. You are more than welcome to join me though. Don’t want to get punched? No worries, I’ll be at most activities and hope to see you there!

Jeroen van Dijk

Hi cuties! My name is Jeroen van Dijk, part of the best activities committee of FAECTOR so far. Some of you will know me already, probably from drinking a lot of pilsch (‘Vo) together and sharing some funny moments. For the ones I haven’t met yet, I hope I will meet you at this year’s activities which are going to be your best memories! Currently I’m in my third year which I would like to make the best year of all. One of my main goals this year is to get the city trip (with hopefully a lot of staplebeds) sold out in less than 23 seconds. Furthermore I’m just 20 years old, a big fan of soccer, member of JC Bizøn at Laurentius and besides ‘studying’ I try to make my time as a student the best of my life.

Anke Clerx

Hello dear readers of the Estimator! I am Anke Clerx, some of you may know me from last year’s Eerstejaarscommissie (which is now the third most awesome committee of FAECTOR, because obviously, the Estimator, followed by the AC, is on top now). My resolution for this year is to keep the destination of the city trip an actual secret till the announcement in December, so don’t try to make me say it whenever I had too much wine at Divoza. Furthermore, I am 19 years old and like to travel, dance, run and eat. (I especially like the running part so I can eat more Ben & Jerry’s without feeling guilty.) Before I came to Rotterdam, I took dance lessons at a local association for 13 years, but unfortunately I never got a Wildcard for So You Think Can Dance. Anyway, I hope this year will be just as amazing as last year and I hope to see all of you guys at one of our events!

Gwendoline Eijsvogel

Hi all! My name is Gwendoline Eijsvogel and I'm a second year BSc2 student. Last year, I had a great time at all of the activities of FAECTOR and that's why I decided to join the second-most amazing committee of FAECTOR. Being a member of the Activities Committee, I will obviously be attending all the activities this year as well. If this is not the case at one of the events, you'll probably find me at Laurentius or B&R. Besides that, I am playing field hockey in my newly formed team at Victoria. I am sure our activities this year will be more fun than ever, since we already came up with some great ideas! I am looking forward to seeing you all at our activities!

Rob Huisman

Hello everyone, my name is Rob Huisman. A vivid soccer player and practiser of crossfit. Currently I am in the fourth year of BSC2 programme and of course in this year's Activities Committee. Our goal is to bring you the most exciting and memorable activities FAECTOR can afford. I'm sure this will involve lots of beer and laughter and will result in the best memories. Be sure to keep an eye on the activities agenda as there are a lot of awesome things to come!
