What happened in Lievelde...

On the 26th of February, a group of brave active members started an adventurous journey to the big city Lievelde (a.k.a. ‘The middle of nowhere’). All still a bit disoriented and tired of the heavy test week, but all determined to reach the place where all the magic happens as fast as possible. After a long, heavy and rough journey with a lot of barriers, we all reached the accommodation safely. The IntAct Committee welcomed us warmly and had prepared a real beer pong tournament to start off the weekend. Teams were formed, tactics were discussed and the tournament could start. At the beginning the players were all really serious and really didn’t want to lose. However, after a couple of rounds, the coordination of most of the (losing) teams became worse and the first losers were announced. In the end the feisty team, consisting of Lars and Artiom, won and received everlasting glory. Of course, the party continued and many drinking games were played. However, some of us were sooooo tired and sick of the foregoing week (they didn’t even know the difference between a toilet and a suitcase anymore) and went to bed already quite early. Fortunately, the most of us still had the energy to party into the small hours…

On Saturday morning it was time to examine the damage. Of course the IntAct Committee had come prepared and with special thanks to them, the accommodation looked perfect again after an intensive cleaning session. For some us, the day didn’t start that well and others had to tell them what they had done the evening before, but they had a nice time! On Saturday also the poor souls who still had an exam on Friday evening arrived and were immediately informed about what had happened the other night. Around 2 pm the pubquiz started and among other things, our knowledge of FAECTOR and topography was tested. After a heavy battle, the team consisting of Anke, Dylan, Jesper, Jasper, Rob and Marie-Sophie had proven that they had the most common knowledge. They won two special beers, Merci and they all got their own FAECTOR towel! But the sweet IntAct Committee didn’t want to disappoint anyone, so every active member who was present during the weekend got his own FAECTOR towel as well! This would be very useful during the secret activity on Sunday ;). Due to the energetic quiz, people became hungry during the evening and it was the task of the Freshmen Committee to cook. They prepared delicious tacos and everybody was really happy about it. After dinner, many games were played and a real pyramid of empty beer crates was built. As the night progressed, more empty beer crates could be added to the pyramid and the number of drunk people grew. Just like Friday night, it wouldn’t be quiet before 7 am...

On Sunday morning the IntAct Committee gave us a wake-up call and had prepared a real hangover breakfast with baked eggs and toasties. After breakfast it was time to make a group pic (although some lazy persons are missing in the picture). In the afternoon it was possible to go swimming, but other stayed in Lievelde or went home already. After swimming everybody was starving and now it was the Eerstejaars Committee’s turn to prepare dinner. They cooked a delicious pasta pesto which everybody enjoyed really much. During the evening the party started again, but this time it was different. It was total chaos and a complete escalation. Especially the ragecage was popular and people played it until they hit rock bottom. Some had made their own man cave in the beer crate pyramid and even started the ‘not so serious request 2016’, while others were so drunk that they didn’t even care anymore they were only wearing their underpants. Many other shocking things happened as well, but what happens in Lievelde, stays in Lievelde...

On Monday it was time to go home again. After a really intensive cleaning session we all started the long journey back home, back to reality. Some diehards even attended their lectures at 9 am. The weekend was really over now and everybody has had a great time. Many thanks to the IntAct Committee!
