Welcommittees! - IntAct Committee

In 'Welcommitees!' we present all new committees that started in September. We asked everyone to tell something about themselves and to answer three questions about their committee members. This episode, just one week before Valentine's Day, we introduce you to the committee that love our Active Members the most, the Internal Activites Committee (abbreviated as IntAct). These girls and guys are, amongst other things, responsible for organising the Committee Battles every half year - and coming up with the most creative questions and challenges - and of course, the Active Members Weekend.

Marie-Sophie

H‌ey! My name is Marie-Sophie, I am half French and half German and a proud member of the IntAct Committee.
I love to go to all FAECTOR events and I am looking forward to organising all the ones for the Active Members this year. I like this committee because of its spontaneity, you can come up with any new events and challenges for the active members.

I was supposed to fly to Canada and forgot my passport at home, but through a series of very lucky events I was able to catch that plane in time

I am of course looking forward to our bigger activities such as the Active Members Weekend and our new event to a secret location.... shhhh! Of course I hope that many Active Members will come to all those cool activities and participate in our funny (and not so funny) challenges!

My most embarrassing experience was probably last summer, when I was supposed to fly to Canada and forgot my passport at home. A series of very lucky events (which I would love to tell you at the next drink ;) ) enabled me to finally catch that plane in time.

Rebecca

Hey! My name's Rebecca and with the fabulous IntAct Committee this year I want to gain some organising skills. With them I want to organise an amazing Active Members Weekend and some other unforgettable active member events.

I woke up with a piece of paper in front of me saying: "Dangerous animal, don't feed!"

The most embarrassing thing I have ever experienced was falling asleep on a boat tour with some friends and when I woke up there was a piece of paper in front of me saying: “Dangerous animal, don’t feed!” next to a basket where people could put some money in (nobody did, but apparently they did take pictures).

Marieke

I think one of the most embarrassing things is probably the amount of times that I've talked about someone who was standing behind me...

Hi! I'm Marieke, 19 years old and currently in my 2nd year of Econometrics. This year I've been chosen to take place in the amazing IntAct Committee to make sure that all of our Active Members feel well appreciated for all their work and great activities!

I think one of the most embarrassing things is probably the amount of times that I've talked about someone who was standing behind me... I hope you all have a great year and I'll see you at FAECTOR!

Gerben

Dear Estimator,

I took a lot of weird selfies with what I thought was my friend's phone, but of course it wasn't

My name is Gerben and I'm in my second year of my bachelor. In my spare time I like to go to the opera, to skydive, to hunt whales and I also happen to lie a lot. In actuality, I'm a third year student.

I hope the IntAct will achieve to create memories for the Active Members, which will last for a very long time.

The most embarrassing thing I ever experienced was at a party. I once took a lot of weird selfies with what I thought was my friend's phone, but of course, it wasn't. The rest is too painful to talk about.

Tobias

My name is Tobias and I'm this year's chairman of the IntAct Committee ('vo). The IntAct Committee will organise all Active Members events, among which the infamous Active Members Weekend: put the 3rd until the 6th of March in your diaries as the best four days of your life! This is also what we want to achieve with our committee: to make Active Members Weekend 2017 the best experience of your life!

The most embarrassing thing of my life is being corrected for a grammar error by Jeroen

For me personally, my main task will be translating everything between our supervisor Jeroen and the rest of the committee, because his English is... well, let's say there is room for improvement (vertaling voor Jeroen: ik zei zojuist dat je een aardige vent bent). I plan to come to all FAECTOR events, so if you need me, you can probably find me there! If not, I might be with the student korfball association R.S.K.V. Erasmus, of which I'm treasurer this year. Have fun reading all Estimator articles!

Oh, and what the most embarrasing thing of my life is? Being corrected for a grammar error by Jeroen.

Jeroen

My name is Jeroen, Secretary of the 51st board #metIJs51 and supervisor of the PIntAct Committee of this year. Besides the common hobbies like playing sports, running marathons and drinking pilsch, I like fishing and bird watching. The biggest fish I ever managed to catch was a Brasem. The biggest fish I have ever looked in the eyes is the Great White shark down in Gansbaai, close to Cape Town.

I used the dictionary that I received during our constitution drink (‘Vo!) at our first IntAct meeting

The IntAct Committee of this year will make a year as Active Member of FAECTOR even more exciting. During the year, we will provide you with several challenges and new activities, however, the Active Members Weekend is still my favorite.

One of the most embarrassing things for me this year was the first IntAct meeting, where I used the dictionary that I received during our constitution drink, ‘Vo!
