Welcommittees! - IntAct Committee

Speed date with all the new committees that started in September by reading the Welcommittees! Is it a match? Do you swipe left or right? We asked everyone to tell something (embarrassing) about themselves and to answer three questions about their committee members. This time we learn about the members of the Internal Activities Committee! Let's see who the people are that make sure all FAECTOR's committee members bond during the Active Member events for this year, including the infamous Active Members Weekend.

Adios amigos!

My name is Maurits and I’m the proud supervisor of the IntAct committee! In my spare time, I like to go to music festivals, hang out with friends and give “jantjes” on FIFA. Since I’m the secretary this year, I have the great pleasure of having multiple committees and so I also get to write multiple Welcommittees! This is the 3rd time I get to tell everyone about some embarrassing moments of mine; hope you’re not getting bored yet :)

When I was around 14, I went on a ski trip with my family. We had a lovely lunch at the top of the mountain and I chose a creamy tomato soup. After we went down the slopes and were queueing up for the ski lift, I wasn’t feeling too good. It was really busy in the queue and the heat wasn’t helping. It didn’t take too long before the soup came out again and the whole queue could enjoy the tomato coloured pancake that I had just produced.

A special talent of mine is that I can sing like Adele. The weird thing is, though, that I’m only able to do this after I’ve consumed some alcoholic beverages. I’m not entirely sure if everyone else agrees with me though…

Together with the IntAct committee, I want to make sure that all the Active Members feel at home at FAECTOR. I’m also already looking forward to the legendary Active Members Weekend! This was the activity that made me really fall in love with FAECTOR last year and I want other people to experience this as well!

Hi! My name is Martijn van Erp, 2nd year econometrics student, and I’m 18 years old. Most of my days are filled with either rowing, cycling, pilsching or buying 0.0003 bitcoin. The rest of my time is spent on procrastinating and avoiding to study for my courses, but when I do (usually the week before exams), you’ll find me in the UB with my sleeping bag. Come say hi!

P(Me not remembering the most embarrassing moment I ever experienced) = 1

My special talent is memorizing Boef lyrics (want ik ben zelf een boefje). Also, being a night owl, I usually study really late at night, so now I have slaaptekort want ik slaap te kort.

This year, I want to organize amazing Active Member events, and make sure all Active Members have a great time!

Hi, my name is Sanne and I am from Amstelveen, where I lived for eighteen years with my parents and twin brother. Over a year ago, he moved to Leiden to study Mathematics and I moved to Rotterdam to study Econometrics.

Our special talent is sudoku, I prefer seven stars and when we were young we always competed who can solve a sudoku the fastest.

Last year as one of the members of the Eerstejaarscommissie, I really enjoyed organising social activities and this year I hope to continue doing that with the IntAct and create a tight group of all the Active Members.

Just after my exams in high school, I think I experienced quite an embarrassing thing. It was during my interrail journey with five of my best friends from Prague to Budapest. In the train we encountered three Dutch guys and since we had six more hours before we would arrive, they joined us and we talked a lot. But it was only when one of them added me on Facebook that I realised I had known him all that time. Because when I saw his picture which was taken during Sinterklaas I saw him in the only way I recognize him, namely dressed as a Piet. Because I have played Piet with him for almost five years now…

Hi everyone, my name is Daan, and I am eighteen years old. My hobbies consist of watching movies, going to the gym, partying at the best club there is: Ciccio!; and hanging out with friends.

I recently experienced a pretty awkward situation at the Albert Heijn. The cashier had just finished scanning my products, and I had put everything in my bag. Now I only had to pay, which I did contactless. However, the machine didn’t register my card properly, so I still had to fill in my code to finish the transaction. The problem was that I was listening to music, so I didn’t hear the lady call me back. Someone had to run after me, almost to the bike stands, which was pretty embarrassing.

I don’t really have a special talent, but I do tend to be able to eat a lot of chicken in one sitting. It does help my muscles after I have been to the gym, though, which is nice.

This year we already organized the really successful Cycling Dinner. We would like to keep this positive trend going by organizing more great events for the Active Members, especially the Active Members Weekend! Furthermore, the Committee Battles are very heated, so we want to keep the competition between the committees going. I am sure we will have an amazing year, and I hope to see you all during one of the FAECTOR drinks or Active Members events!

Hiiii, my name is Meiyee Chow, I am 19 years old and I am from a beautiful, little, limburgse city called Sittard. I spend most of my free time watching Netflix, listening to music (dancing and singing along to it alone in my room) or going out with friends. I also like to tell people I go to the gym, when in reality I only go once every two weeks, which by the way I am still very proud of myself for that.

As far as my most embarrassing experience is concerned, I like to replace it every once in a while. So if you hang out with me long enough, I am sure you will experience a new one with me shortly.

My special talent would probably be knowing all the lyrics to High School Musical and every One Direction song. Come on, everyone has been through that phase.

I hope the upcoming year will be filled by making beautiful memories with all our FAECTOR friends. I am looking forward to all our activities, but the one event I obviously look forward to most is Active Members Weekend! We’re already very busy with the preparations so you better get enough sleep now and prepare for the best weekend of your life.

Hey! I’m Dave Warsito, and I come from this beautiful pittoresque place called Delft. I’m a big fan of sports, especially football, and besides that I really love traveling around the world. Moreover, having a drink with my friends is a favorite thing for me to do as well, which can result in me singing really loudly (and off-key). I wouldn’t consider that a talent. Some of my real talents are procrastinating, Netflix marathons and Ciccio (bai) uitspelen.

Last year I had a great time in the Freshmen Committee, and new challenges await in the IntAct committee. Organising the best Active Members Weekend and hosting the well-known Committee Battles are just two of the great challenges this year, and I’m really looking forward to take care of all these tasks with the IntAct. I hope that the connection between all Active Members will be stronger than ever this year!

Embarrassing stuff? Locking myself up in a public toilet, stumbling in the cinema and dropping my box of popcorn on a complete stranger….. Uhm, no, nothing really :)

I’m looking forward to seeing you at one of our FAECTOR (Active Members) events this year!
