As you all may know, FAECTOR has welcomed several new committees since last summer. In order to introduce themselves, the Estimator has asked them to write something about themselves and to send some nice baby pictures!
Alinda Wu
*knock knock* Who’s there? Alinda. Alinda who? Alinda Wu ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Hi! Call me Ali W, Alin, Linnie, or whatever you want. I am 19 years old and I love eating, making music and dancing (yes I am that person who not so secretly twerks in her room in front of the mirror).
Niels Koot
My real name is Nicolaas Wilhelmus and I am a energetic and enthusiastic kiddo. There are almost no days where I am moody and despite the fact that I do econometrics I have a lot of knowledge of languages. I used to live in Brabant and despite that we’re in Rotterdam I still talk with a soft G and I always say “houdoe (hè)” no matter what.
I was on ski holiday once and one of my skis fell off and the group with whom I had training with continued while I was still trying to put the ski on (I was around 8-9 years old by the way). So in no time I was the only one on the hill with one loose ski. In 2 minutes another group arrived so I joined them and the teacher put on my ski. In the end I came down crying to my mom and dad who were still waiting.
Jelle Schouten
My name is Jelle. I literally like every sport you can think of and besides that I like to play games. I’m not a fan of being alone, I like to be among other people. Next to this I try to do as many fun things as possible, for example chilling with friends or play soccer with them.
My most embarrassing moment was when I pooped in a urinal, because I couldn’t find the normal toilets.
Laurens Kragtwijk
Hi, I’m Laurens and I am 18 years old. I’m a first years bachelor student Econometrie and I live in De Bilt. I played field hockey for years, until last summer. I really like to have a beer with my friends and go to a party every now and then.
Once I was sitting with a female friend of mine in a car in front of the Albert Heijn by night. A police car drove by three times. The third time a police officer came to my window and asked me what we were doing. I gave the officer my driver’s license and said we were just talking, which we were. My friend confirmed that. The officer looked at both our ID’s and said everything was OK, but she thought she had to check us, because it really looked like an older man was sitting with a younger girl in a car and she did not trust that. The officer went away, but I’ve never felt so ashamed.
Leoni van Dijk
Hello my name is Leoni and I am 18 years old. I am from Katwijk aan Zee and yes we eat fish here very often, and no my father is not also my uncle. People often spell my name wrong. Look for instance at the estimator stukje van Jelle. Don’t be like Jelle. I like to play games, dance and to be creative. I also like to party and have a good time with people.
I used to work in a restaurant and a pregnant lady came to me. She asked where she could go ‘kolven’ (which is Dutch for breast pumping). But I thought she asked me where she could go ‘golfen’ (golfing). Since we don’t have a golfing area in Katwijk I told her very seriously that she couldn’t to that here, she had to go to Noordwijk for this. This resulted in a terribly awkward situation where she angrily asked me if I was sending her to a different village to pump the milk out of her breasts.
Max Ellens
My name is Max, 19 years old and I am 3rd year econometrics student. Besides being an active FAECTORian, I’m also an active member of the rowing club Skadi, where I row, coach and where I’m part of a committee. Besides all of this I enjoy a drink or a party together with my friends and I’m a music fanatic, which might be the case because I play the drums.
When I came home really drunk, thinking that no one was home. Luckily for me, my mom couldn’t sleep and was just making a cup of tea. We had a really good conversation about nothing, and after that I quickly went to bed.
Rebecca van Essen
Hi everyone! My name is Rebecca and I am the Secretary of the 53rd board of FAECTOR. One of my main tasks is supervising four committees. One of those is the Eerstejaarscommissie which is a lot of fun to do as all of its members love ‘gezelligheid’. Originally I am from the pretty town of Reeuwijk (next to Gouda for those of you who don’t know it) which leads to me being a real cheese lover. In my free time (as far as that exists) I like to play field hockey (although I didn’t manage to be present at a practice this academic year yet), to cook and to have committee avondjes.
I almost lost the voice recorder that recorded the first night of the General Members Assembly right when the second night of the assembly was about to start. Luckily I found it back in the pocket of my jacket.
Last but not least, we asked the committee members some questions, with the following result:
