Welcommittee - External Committee

It's time for another Welcommittee! This time we will introduce the members of the External Committee. The External Committee will help the Career Officer Pim and the Commercial Officer Carolijn of this year's board in the fields of acquisition, organisation and consulting. We are glad to finally introduce them to you!

Dave Warsito

'My love for you is a monotonically increasing unbounded function.'

Hey! I’m Dave Warsito, I’m nineteen years old, and I come from this beautiful pittoresque place called Delft. I’m currently in the third year of the BSC^2 programme, and this will also be my third year as an Active Member. I’m a huge fan of sports, football in particular, and I sometimes (try to) go to the gym. When I’m not on a football pitch, I like to hang out with friends or discover some new music albums (Geography by Tom Misch is amazing!). I also like to learn new languages and to travel around the world.

One of my most embarrassing moments happened this summer on holiday in New York. We were walking on the sidewalks somewhere close to Times Square, when suddenly an old man across the street started to wave at me. I decided to walk on as I didn’t know him, but as he kept on waving, I crossed the street to see who he was. It was only when I wanted to approach him that I noticed the couple behind me (who were probably walking behind me for minutes), who gave the man a warm hug. I just shook the old man’s hands and walked away as quick as possible … I did have a great time in NY though!

Lotte van der Linden

'Do you believe in love at first sight or do I have to walk by one more time?'

Hi everyone! I’m Lotte van der Linden, 20 years old and I am from a very small town near Zwolle in the east of the Netherlands. This year will be my third year of studying the BSc2 programme and my second time being an Active Member. I love music. In my spare time, I like to listen to music or play some myself. Besides that, I mostly like to hang out with friends and have a great time.

My most embarrassing moment didn’t happen too long ago. It was the day after the FAECTOR opening party actually. I had to take the train to Delft, but a bit of food poisoning together with a hangover made me extremely nauseous on the train. So, I decided to get off at Schiedam Centrum and I threw up three times in a trashcan and people saw it. Afterwards, I took the next train towards Delft.

Michel Pham

'If you were a mathematical formula, you would Euler’s. ‘Cause you are so beautiful.'

Hi readers! I’m Michel Pham, 21 years old and currently in the final year of the Dutch econometrics bachelor. In my spare time I love to play tennis, travel and recently I started salsa dancing. Even though I have only been salsa dancing for two months now, I’m really enjoying it so far and I highly recommend everyone to go to the try-outs next year!

I can’t really remember my most embarrassing moment, but I do have a recent one. Last Eurekaweek I was a guide and I’m really bad in remembering names in general. So I constantly had to look in the WhatsApp group to figure out everybody’s name and of course I got caught (multiple times). Which was kind of awkward and embarrassing at the time, but in the end I became good friends with the majority of the group and I do remember all their names now.

Wouter van Wessel

'___👌🏻                                      It’s a pickup line'

Hi everyone!

My name is Wouter van Wessel and this is my first year as active member of FAECTOR. Next to FAECTOR I’m active at the rowing association Skadi: I live in a fraternity house and coach ladies 1. I am a proud citizen of Rotterdam who believes in the power of enthusiasm. One day I hope to start my own company and contribute to the development of this city. But on shorter notice I would love to go abroad for studies, internships or regular travelling.

The most embarrassing moment I remember was when I was around 7 years old. With the after school care we went on a trip to a fun park and this was the first time I could go with the ‘old’ group. However, in all my excitement I forgot that I had to go to the toilet. Once I felt that I really had to go it was already too late… On the first day I could hang out with the older children I pooded in my pants… I was so embarrassed I didn’t tell anyone until I got home and my mom asked why I was smelling so badly…

Erine de Leeuw

Hi, I am Erine.’

Hey there! My name is Erine de Leeuw, I am 21 years old and am a Quantitative Marketing and Business Analytics Master student. Before joining the best study (read: study association) in the world, I first finished my Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft. As most of you might know (or are about to) I have a twin sister, who is -very surprisingly- studying the exact same thing I am. Something that you probably don’t know about me is that I love to dance and sing very passionately to Latin music, so any time a Spanish song comes on, you’ll definitely hear and see me singing and dancing along!

One of my most embarrassing moments was when I walked into a mannequin and said “sorry”, then “oh my god, I thought you were a person!” all the while talking to a mannequin by myself...

Pim van der Voet

'Can you touch my hand? I want to tell my friends I've been touched by an angel.'

This year I will be the supervisor of the External Committee. However, I will first quickly introduce myself. I am Pim, 20 years old and originally from Best (in the sunny south of the Netherlands). I just finished my Bachelor last Summer and am currently FAECTOR’s Career Officer. In my spare time I like to listen to jazz music, play piano, travel and ski.

My most embarrassing moment is when I was accompanying a guy on his panflute music exam and my sheet music fell off the piano during the most difficult piece he had to play. Luckily, we were allowed to play the piece over and he played it twice as good the second time.

Of course, we asked the External Committee to fill in the -by now- famous Estimator questionnaire!

Who is most likely to get a lot of kids?

Who is most likely to become the next Jamie Oliver?

Who chooses alpha = 10%?
