Welcommittee - Marketing Committee

The next committee we would like to introduce is the marketing committee. This committee, as the name already suggests, is responsible for the marketing of our association! All the cool FAECTOR items you can get, are there because of this committee. However, their biggest project every year is to create the Almanac! Curious who this year's creative master minds are? In this welcommittee they will introduce themselves.

Samuël Verdaasdonk

“Hey, my name’s Microsoft. Can I crash at your place tonight?”

Hey everyone! I am Samuël (or Sam for the inner circle). 19 years ago, I was born in the second most beautiful place in The Netherlands: Rotterdam. However, after only one year I moved to the most beautiful place of the country together with my parents and brother: a village in “het gezellige Brabant” called Prinsenbeek, which is next to Breda. This is where I grew up and learned a zachte g.
Currently I am living in Rotterdam and besides being a member of the MarCo I am a second year econometrics student and a first year tax law student. I also like to play hockey and do different kinds of sports at Erasmus Sports. And ofcourse I’m not dirty from a few beers (which is a very badly translated Dutch sentence).

I am gifted to experience a lot of embarrassing moments in my life. I’ve been falling off a lot of stairs in clubs and busy public places like train stations. But my most recent one happened on the hockey field. One of my team members played a high ball which landed in the dirt next to the field. I decided (very kindly) to get the ball for the opponent. However, the field was surrounded with a fence so I had to jump over it. Keep in mind that all the players were watching me getting that ball so I should not fall when jumping. When I was half way through my jump I realised I was not going to make it and I should make my fall look very smooth. This didn’t work out well; I fell head first on the ground and kept lying on the floor because I felt too embarrassed to return to the field.

Annegien Smilde

“Hey, how you doin’?”

Hi, my name is Annegien and I’m a first year Bsc2 student. I grew up in a small town close to Gorinchem, but I moved to Rotterdam this summer. My hobbies are playing field hockey, skiing and travelling (my dream is to travel around the world someday). But in my free time, I also love to hang out with friends, watch a movie or have a drink with them.

My embarrassing story would be when, while I was working at a party, a glass of red wine was about to fall of my tray right on a guest at that party. Luckily, I was (sort of) able to correct myself, so that the glass of wine poured over me instead. Unfortunately for me, there was no extra blouse left at that time, so I had to work the whole night with a huge stain of red wine on my blouse.

Floor Peters

"If I had a dollar for every time I thought of you, I’d be richer than an econometrist."

My name is Floor, I’m 18 years old and I’m from Delft. I played hockey for years, but stopped last year, which is really dangerous because I’m in love with food. Besides that, I like partying and having fun with friends. I spend my weekends partying with my friends in steck (the one and only club in Delft). This got out of control since I’m a clubmember, which means free entrance… Since september this year, I’m a (active) member at FAECTOR too, and I’m super excited for the coming year with the marketing committee!

My most embarrassing moment: missing a chance to score in front of an empty goal during a hockey match…

Vera Roersma

"Excuse me, is your name Earl Grey? Because you look like a hot-tea!"

I’m Vera, 19 years old and I am from Voorburg (naar The Hague). I like music a lot: I play piano, did modern dance and I like to go to festivals. I also like to watch TV (the worst series on TLC to be precise) and Netflix with my roommates and friends, and of course to go out for drinks and to dance a lot!!

The most embarrassing moment of my life was when I (my mom actually.....) received a fine the first time I drove after receiving my licence..

Qamar Suleri

"Meeting you is like a switch to polar coordinates: complex and imaginary things are given a magnitude and a direction."

I am Qamar Suleri, 18 years old and a first year Econometrics student. I live in Rotterdam now but come from Friesland. I really like traveling and playing tennis.

My most embarrassing moment is probably this one time when I went shopping with my mom and while she was going to another shop I went back to the parking lot to go sit in our car. Atleast that's what I thought. Instead I went and sat in a total different car while still being convinced it was the right car. Then, I noticed there was a person sitting in front of me who looked pretty weird. That person just looked at me for a while without saying anything and then I got out of the car and quickly walked away.

Michael Darmoutomo

"Is your name Wi-Fi, because I'm feeling a connection."

Hi everyone, my name is Michael and I'm 22 years old and I will be supervising the Marketing Committee this year. Ever since I was very young I have always liked to design stuff, and in my first year of my studies I joined the Marketing Committee. Three years later, here I am, supervising the Marketing Committee. I am looking very forward to working with my committee to brand FAECTOR and publish the most beautiful almanac ever. I like to go out for dinner, enjoy committee nights, travel and play drums.

My most embarrassing moment was when I accidentally deleted the whole FAECTOR website.

Lastly, we asked the Marketing Committee some questions with the following responses:
