How to survive Valentine's day when you're single

Contrary to popular belief, Valentine's Day is not only for those in a relationship. There are many perks to be single on Valentine's day. In fact, Valentine's day shouldn't be about surviving if you're single; it's all about thriving on Valentine's day if you're single! So a guide to thriving on Valentine's day if you're single:

DISCOUNTED SWEETS ALL FOR YOURSELF. Need I say more? There are many chocolates and desserts on discount during and right after Valentine's day. Treat yourself to some of these. Perk or being single? You don't need to share them with anyone :)

BINGE WATCH ROMANTIC MOVIES. People are always so stressed in all those romantic movies. Just watch them for entertainment and be happy you don't have any extra drama in your life. As if studying econometrics isn't enough. (PS: keep an eye out for our Watchables: Valentine's day edition article coming out later this week for some movie recommendations!)

YOU'RE NOT ALONE. Even though it may seem like it, you're not the only single person on Valentine's day. Take a leap of faith and maybe ask your crush out? It may seem like scary and nerve-racking, but you've got nothing to lose. If it goes well, maybe there'll be another date and if it goes bad, at least you'll have a funny story to tell.

WHO NEEDS VALENTINE'S DAY WHEN YOU HAVE GALENTINE'S DAY. Celebrate Galentine's day with your fellow single friends. Go out for drinks, go to a party or just have a fun night in. Single people, rejoice!

CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S DAY FOR YOURSELF. Valentine's day is about love, but it doesn't necessarily equate to romantic love. The most important relationship you have is your relationship with yourself, so celebrate yourself this Valentine's day! Buy yourself some flowers, treat yourself to a nice dinner, buy yourself those shoes you've been eyeing for a while now. You deserve it!
