We sat down with Lotte, FAECTOR’s 59th Marketing & Innovation Officer, to talk about her role and the upcoming 12th Lustrum celebrations, as well as the soon-to-be-formed Lustrum Committee. From designing Instagram posts to supervising committees, Lotte shares what makes her job so diverse and exciting, along with her plans for this special committee!
Floris: Let’s start with an introduction! Who are you?
Lotte: Hi, my name is Lotte and I am the Marketing & Innovation Officer of the 59th Board. I am mostly busy with designing things, such as Instagram posts, booklets, banners and the annual almanac. Next to that I supervise multiple committees such as the Ski Trip Committee, the Marketing Committee, the IT Committee and soon the Lustrum Committee. I like how diverse my function is. I go from being the chair of the innovation meetings of our board and organizing events to designing goodies for the active members.
Floris: How did you end up supervising the Lustrum committee?
Lotte: It actually comes with my function, which is really nice! I wanted to become the Marketing & Innovation Officer, because I like the creative side of it. After studying econometrics for a few years, I was ready for some new skills, such as designing in InDesign and supervising committees. Next to that I like the innovation part, I will organise the FAECTOR Green Days (End of March 2025) and keep FAECTOR CO2 neutral.
Floris: What is a Lustrum?
Lotte: Every five years we have a Lustrum, thus this coming Lustrum will be the XIIth Lustrum. We have special activities planned for next year, such as an opening dinner, a gala and a special rally!
Floris: How many members do you need to make this lustrum a great success?
Lotte: For the committee only four, with whom I will work very closely. Meetings over dinner, having a fun bonding night and going out for lunch are things I would like to do with them, next to our weekly brainstorming and planning meetings! But about the events I would say the contrary, Lustrum is THE event to catch up with your old peers and fellow students at the wide range of events we have in store for you! So everyone, please feel welcome to join!
Floris: What type of people are you looking for in this committee?
Lotte: It is a committee with four members next to me as the supervisor. Since it is quite a small committee, but we will organise many special events, I hope the applicants will be motivated and that they think outside the box. I hope this lustrum will be the greatest one yet of course 😉. Next to that, we will have a small Lustrum Almanac, thus creativity is even more important.
Floris: When and how can you apply for this committee?
Lotte: Feel free to ask more questions about the Lustrum Committee at our Committee Interest Drink on 8 January (20:00-22:00) at Café Stobbe! If you’re not able to make it, you can always come over to the office for a coffee with me or text/email me (marketing@faector.nl).
Floris: Thank you so much for sharing your plans with XIIth Lustrum with us! Is there anything you would like to say to our readers?
Lotte: This is a Committee that opens only once every five years, so it’s very special. Next to that, the things you do and learn are very broad. Since there are many big events, you will work very closely with four other people, with whom you would probably become great friends. If you don’t have time for a committee, such as the Lustrum Committee, that’s okay! But make sure to join one of the great events FAECTOR will organize for you ☺️. Hope to see you there! P.s. So there you have it! The Lustrum Committee may be small, but it’s packed with opportunities to make a big impact. Whether you’re joining the team or just attending the events, there’s plenty to look forward to. Don’t miss the Committee Interest Drink on 8 January, and stay in the loop by following @faector.rotterdam on Instagram!
